Singer/Songwriter Jennifer Armour pulled herself out of the performance side of things for a while to focus on songwriting, but recently returned to the scene by releasing some of her most requested original songs on her Album entitled "It's Not What You Say". Guitar-laden songs with strong beats and a light, yet rugged feel bring you an album that has universal appeal and targeted pleasure.  Jennifer wrote these songs with everyone in mind. Every listener, as well as every influence. From John Lennon to Mary J. Blige to The Romantics...it shows up. There's Rock, R&B, Hip Hop (rapper D MAC from Platinum Mind/FatherTime's crew shows up on the popular song entitled "If I Don't"), even a little Country flair makes an appearance (check out the song "I Suppose").

Whereas genre-mixing or including multiple styles can often lead to a final product that is confusing or teeters on irrelevancy, Jennifer has crafted something that is getting rave reviews and is widely embraced and enjoyed. The genres maintain their solid identity and gritty presence, while simultaneously dishing up a "popular", broad sound. Jennifer refers to it as "Grit-Pop". Her audiences won't be bored, as it's evident throughout the record that she also writes her lyrics with a wide array of listeners in mind. Even the most "fun" of pop songs on this lineup brings with it a lyrical depth and tender resolve.

When asked about the future, Jennifer says "I've always held fast to a goal of writing for Major artists, even though I'm a vocalist by trade. Obviously, writing for a Publishing company is the goal of every songwriter, if they have any "fiscal" understanding of the business. (laughing) But, per the request of many, I just performed and recorded this set myself, and I'm SO happy that I did. Of course, getting signed as an "Artist" to a Major is always a goal too, as with any artist, but if a person becomes obsessed with it, they won't be happy with the art form and creativity ceases. I just love the whole process, and I'm glad people are liking it on an Independent level..."
